Chicago Blues - Lesson 4 - Anders Mouridsen
One of the key figures to the sound of the Chicago Blues is Muddy Waters. His Delta background and raw approach to the instrument paved the way for the blues to come. Waters is known for playing several key riffs that are staples in the blues of Chicago, and in this lesson we will examine those to mimic his approach. We will play two riffs that are essential to the authenticity of sounding like Muddy Waters. Let's get started.

The tab, notation and pdf files are my own work and represent my interpretation of the songs. These files are put together and formatted in Notepad, transformed to MS Word and converted to pdf format to save or print the composition. And, if available, a link back to the Tutorial. Tab files with references to any artist are not meant to be actual transcriptions of copyrighted material.

The lick samples are gathered from talented online teachers; and the related audio clips are extracted from their tutorial pages. Many tabs have been transposed in the Key of Am - at the 5th fret (a popular key when playing the Blues) or the Key of Em - the "guitar key" (all open strings belong to this scale and the most common key for Delta Blues).
