Verse 1

[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
Life.... goes on day after day.
[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
Hearts.. torn in every way.

   E G#m
So ferry cross the Mersey,
           F#m B7
Cause this land's the place I love,
              [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
And here I'll stay.

Verse 2

[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
Peo.... ple they rush everywhere.
[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
Each... with their own secret care.

   E G#m
So ferry across the Mersey,
    F#m B7 E
And always take me there..the place I love.

[F#m B] E
People around every corner.
[F#m B] E
They seem to smile and say..
F#m G#m
We don't care what your name is boy,
F#7 B7
We'll never turn you away.

Verse 3

[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
So.... I'll continue to say,
[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
Here.... I always will stay.

   E G#m
So ferry across the Mersey.
           F#m B7
Cause this land's the place I love..
             [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
And here I'll stay......and here I'll stay..
[E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7] [E Bm7]
Here I'll stay. Here I'll stay.

The Lick samples are gathered from talented online teachers and tabbed in the key in which they were found. Many have been transposed in the Key of Am - at the 5th fret (a popular key when playing the Blues) or the Key of Em - the "guitar key" (all open strings belong to this scale and the most common key for Delta Blues).
