After a 15+ year hiatus from playing the guitar, I dusted off my old 1981 Taylor 810, had Ian Weston of Weston Instruments (Ottawa Guitar Repair Shop) work his magic and perform a personalized setup on it and, I started to play again.
Well the guitar felt great and sounded like new again, BUT...I SUCKED BIG TIME! Not only did I SUCK, I had quite a bit of trouble remembering the tunes I used to know so well. I spent many hours sifting through old hand written and photocopied sheets of guitar songs and tabs etc.; and soon realized it was necessary to convert the whole kit and caboodle into an electronic format and add them to a website so I could access them easily.
The site consists of approximately 150 web pages, which includes the Admin, Member and Visitor portions of the application. There are about 15,000 lines of code with a MS Access database back end. The code is written in Classic ASP - VB Script. The site is hosted by Cirrus Tech Ltd. (Toronto, Ontario).
The site is designed to allow Members (friends and family) to add and edit their own favourite Songs and Videos etc. However, I have not enabled this component. Maybe someday...
The above Search field and Advanced Search link help find Songs/Licks and Member information. The Home Media section (Old Tape Recordings and Video Clips) are stand-alone/ independent components and as such do not form part of the Search function.
The Backing Tracks page displays a small collection of audio tracks recorded without the lead instrument. Playing and practicing along with these tracks will help enhance your guitar skills, especially on scales, riff and lick ideas as well as improving your rhythm and timing in solos.
The Old Tape Recordings link displays an assortment of old cassette tape recordings of friends and family mostly done in the early 1980s' and converted to MP3 format without filters or enhancements. These spontaneous audio clips bring back some fond memories for me. They put a smile on my face every time I hear to them.
Video Clips is a place for friends and family to create and upload their own music videos to share with others. Here you will find amazing and creative videos. So...jump in, record and share your own videos. Contact Us and we'll show you how.
The Site Playlist is the collection of all the songs featured on this site. The songs are displayed and played in alphabetical order. This page allows me to access all tunes easily and from anywhere.
I'd love to hear what you think - Good or Bad! Feel free to drop me a line. Contact Us if you have a song request, a question or come across an error or omission. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Most songs have been transcribed from old hand written notes collected and compiled over the years. The audio files are gathered from my personal music library OR extracted from websites offering free guitar lessons. These files are for my own private use and not used for any commercial or profit making enterprise. Also, the Tab and Notation files are my own work and represent my interpretation of the songs. Tab files with references to any artist are not meant to be actual transcriptions of copyrighted material.
For superb lessons, original videos and tabs etc. check out the many websites and Resources mentioned throughout the site.
